Browsing Properties
The Properties page is where every property you import lands — and it's more than a list. It combines a sortable table, a visual gallery, and an interactive map with neighborhood exploration tools built for evaluating Japanese real estate from anywhere in the world.
Table and Gallery Views
Use the view toggle in the top-right corner of the Properties page to switch between two layouts:
- Table view shows properties in a sortable list with customizable columns — best for comparing many properties on specific metrics like price or yield.
- Gallery view shows property cards alongside the interactive map — best for exploring locations and getting a visual feel for your portfolio.
Your choice is remembered, so the page opens the way you left it.
Customizing Table Columns
In table view, click the column selector to show or hide columns. Add the metrics that matter to your strategy — asking price, gross yield, year built, and more. Your column preferences are saved automatically.
Analysis Counts at a Glance
Properties that already have saved AI analyses show a count:
- In table view, the analysis count column shows how many analyses exist for each property. Click the count to jump to all analyses for that property.
- In gallery view, property cards display a count badge. Click it to see all analyses for that property — yours and your team members' combined.
- In the filter panel, filter by analysis count: show only properties with analyses, without analyses, or with a minimum number. This is a quick way to find properties you haven't evaluated yet.
Page Size and the Map
The items-per-page control does double duty: it sets how many properties appear in the list and how many appear on the map. Increase it to 100 or more (up to a maximum of 500) to see a larger slice of your portfolio mapped at once.
Navigating the Map
The map displays every property on the current page, and it stays in sync with the list — changing the page or page size updates the markers automatically.
Two map controls help you move around:
- Fit to View zooms the map to show all current markers.
- Box zoom lets you draw a rectangle to zoom into a specific area.
When properties sit close together, they group into clusters — numbered circles showing how many properties are inside. Click a cluster to zoom in and separate them.
The Property Details Panel
Click any property marker to open the details panel. It brings together:
- Location details
- Hazard risk assessment for the site
- Pricing details
- Interactive tools for exploring the neighborhood (covered below)
Nearby Places
With a property selected, toggle the nearby places buttons to see what's around it:
- Transit — train stations and airports
- Daily Essentials — convenience stores and supermarkets
- Dining — nearby restaurants
Station access and daily convenience are major drivers of rental demand in Japan, so a quick scan of these three layers tells you a lot about a property's tenant appeal.
Walking Route to the Station
Click the walking route button to find and display the route to the nearest major train station. You'll see the distance, estimated walking time, and the station name with its railway connections — the same 徒歩○分 (minutes on foot) figure Japanese renters look for first.
Virtual Street Tour
Open the virtual street tour to walk the station route in Google Street View without leaving your desk. The tour advances automatically along the path and pauses at intersections to look left and right — giving you a real sense of the streetscape, hills, and surroundings a tenant would experience daily.
Working with Property Cards
In gallery view, each card shows the key facts: property code, location, type, units, year built, price, and yield.
- Click the property code to open the full details modal.
- Click the map icon to highlight that property on the map.
Starring Properties
Click the star on any property card to add it to your Starred list for quick access. Starred properties are automatically collected in a predefined list on the Lists page — a zero-effort shortlist.
For more deliberate organization, use the menu on each property card to add the property to custom lists.
